A.  Provide a summary of your perceived areas of strengths and areas of needed improvement

I believe my strengths are definitely things involving Math and Science. Although I seem to be quite skilled in English and Social Studies as well, I believe I am not as strong in those areas. As for my method of learning things, I can get a basic understanding no matter how information is presented. I do prefer reading information on my own so I can process stuff in my brain as I go along. My main areas in need of improvement would definitely be learning to take better notes, studying, and retaining information. I am not completely used to taking notes yet and learning what is best for me so it is often very frustrating whenever I am required to take notes because I do not understand how I am supposed to do so. As for studying, I have never been a fan of studying because it has no effect on how I do on a test or quiz. I believe studying will be necessary in the future, but as for now, I see no purpose in studying if I can already memorize the information ahead of time. Lastly, I seem to struggle with keeping information in my head once the semester or test is over. I believe my brain seems to think that information is no longer needed and therefore I do not need to remember it. This can. Be very frustrating when I desperately want to remember something but I cannot because it has been far too long since I last had a major purpose for said information.

B.  Provide the ratio of true to false out of 30.

Course Benchmark Goals

  • What is it that you hope to know and be able to do at the conclusion of the class?

I hope to have a better understanding of the history of music and how multiple genres can be connected to each other through history.

  • How motivated are you to achieve these goals?

Sadly, I am never really motivated that often so I do not really know how to answer this question, but I believe I am quite motivated when it comes to achieving these goals.

  • How will you increase your motivation if it becomes low during the course of the semester?

I will try to think of all of the benefits this class will provide for me and hopefully become more motivated through those thoughts.

  • What strategies can you use to achieve your goals?

My strategy will be trying to constantly focus on my work and create the best quality work I can do, but still make it in by the deadline.

  • What might interfere with your achievement and how can you prevent this interference?

The main interference would be an extreme lack of motivation, but since that's already how I feel the majority of the time, I believe that I can overcome such a small road bump on my way to achieving my goals.
